Virtual Reality and Immersive Media Major
HELLO
Jillian Wright is a Virtual Reality experience designer, I’ve been into Virtual Reality for a few years now and right now I study at Drexel University majoring in Digital Media & Virtual Production which used to be known as Virtual Reality and Immersive Media. I currently work at Drexel University as a Video Collaboration and Production Support Specialist. I have a Goal to one day use the skills that I’ve learned in 3D modeling to make VR applications that will help people with disabilities learn about social skills so it’s easier for them to translate the skills they learn to real life. I’ve grown up with Autism and ADHD and experienced some hard situations with adults when I was younger but that didn’t deter me from doing my best to learn to understand those situations. But what I learned is that some people just don’t understand autism, so from all those situations I came to the realization that I want to help as many people with autism as possible learn about autism through using Virtual Reality. I just really think that Virtual reality is really helpful for therapy or learning modules because It can be used to really train people. This is my personal perspective because I really want people with autism to learn that they can understand the world around them in the best way they can without any trouble so they can learn to understand social cues and social situations in a conversation and hold a conversation. I just really want to help people in the best way possible with the skills that I’ve learned.
